Jan van Kranendonk graduated as a mechanical engineer from the University of Delft in 2011. He had already started two companies during his studies. During graduation, together with co-founder Thomas de Leeuw, he started a 3rd company, SUNURU: aimed at impacting the global solar power market.

He raised over €400k in funding and conducted projects on the International airport of Schiphol and the Port of Rotterdam. He was educated on entrepreneurship within tech-incubator YES!Delft, EU institute Climate-KIC, and several US locations like Berkeley, Harvard & MIT. He tried customer development for three months in Silicon Valley, but pulled the plug on SUNURU after finding out that the startup was never going to be scalable.

Currently, Jan is starting a new company in the field of electricity storage, alongside enabling better validated startup ideas by letting entrepreneurs 'infiltrate' large corporations.
