Damon C. Matteo is currently Vice President and Chief Intellectual Property Officer of PARC, a Xerox company. In this capacity he is responsible for all aspects of PARC operations that touch innovation assets and Chairman of the US Patent & Trademark Office Advisory Board. With an emphasis on creating significant impact, Damon’s career spans over twenty years across all aspects of the strategic creation, management, and commercialization/ monetization of high-value innovations and intellectual property assets – all in an international context.
On the innovation side, Damon focuses on creating advantageous technology positions that capture or create beneficial market positions. He regularly employs techniques such as new business creation, M&A, licensing and even develops novel business models to maximize returns from these assets. Damon has successfully completed transactions representing organizations in the US, Europe, and Asia, ranging from Fortune 500® companies to start-ups, as well as universities and national laboratories. He operates across industry and technology domains including mobile computing, social networking, energy and clean-tech and computer and consumer electronics.
In recognition of his professional standing, Mr. Matteo's awards and distinctions include being named one of the "Fifty Most Influential People in Intellectual Property" by both Intellectual Asset Magazine and Managing Intellectual Property Magazine, the National Technology Transfer Excellence Award given by the U.S. Federal Government and the "R&D 100 Award" by R&D Magazine.
